Not long back, Realme separated from Oppo to build its own entity and has gone on to launch three of its new smartphones in the month of September itself including the Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro, and the most affordable Realme C1. While Realme uses Oppo’s ColorOS as the custom skin in its smartphones, Oppo just copied the Realme 2 and rebranded it with a waterdrop notch instead of the peculiar notch that it originally had. Everything that Oppo A7, in terms of specifications, is mere a copy of the recently launched Realme 2.

Oppo just launched the A7 smartphone in China, that packs similar specifications compared to the Realme 2 including the dual rear camera setup, a 4230mAh battery, and an AI-enabled selfie camera. Running on ColorOS 5.2, the Oppo A7 also uses 3.5mm headphone jack and supports USB OTG dongle. The smartphone has been listed on the company’s website in China and Nepal, and will go on sale starting November 22.

Available in two beautiful gradient colours with grating pattern, the Oppo A7 flaunts a 6.2-inch HD+ IPS LCD with a waterdrop notch, 19:9 aspect ratio, and a screen ratio of 88.4 percent. Powering the device, is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core chipset coupled with Adreno 506 GPU, alongside 3GB RAM and 32GB on-board storage, expandable via a microSD card of up to 256GB. Only the 3GB RAM variant has been listed on Oppo’s Nepali website, but the Chinese website has listed only the 4GB RAM variant of the Oppo A7. The smartphone also features Hyper Boost technology for seamless gaming experience.

On the optics front, the Oppo A7 brings a 16MP selfie camera placed in the waterdrop notch. Both the Chinese and Nepali websites has refrained from adding any details regarding the rear camera setup, but the leaks suggest that there is a primary 13MP sensor (f/2.2 aperture) coupled with a 2MP secondary sensor (f/2.4 aperture) for depth sensing, in the horizontally stacked setup fashion. In terms of connectivity, the Oppo A7 has all the necessary options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, dual-4G VoLTE, microUSB with OTG support, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The 4,230mAh battery packed inside is more than enough to last a day and a half on a single charge even on heavy usage.

Wrapping up, the Oppo A7 has been listed on Oppo’s Chinese and Nepali websites, as of now and will go on sale in China starting November 22, however the prices have been revealed in China only. The lone 4GB RAM variant coupled with 64GB storage has been priced at CNY 1,599 (around Rs 16,500), and is already up for registrations on the website. In China, it is available in three colour options – Fresh Powder, Lake Light Green, and Amber Gold.
