Which Phones Will Get Android P in 2018?

771

That seems to be a valid question to ask right now given the rage that surrounds this upcoming version of Android operating system. But the wait is almost coming to an end next month when Google will launch the OS officially, but then will phones get it as soon as it is released? And above all which phones will get the update to Android P, which is yet to get its name?

For the starter, there are already a handful of smartphones where you can download Android P beta-version and get a feel of what to expect. But again, the beta-version, the final updating of which was rolled out during Google I/O 2018 in last June, is full of bugs and lacks the finesse of the ultimate Android P. You can download Android P beta-version in Google Pixel, Pixel 2, Pixel XL and 2XL. And there are Nokia 7 Plus, OnePlus 6, Oppo R15 Pro, Vivo X21, Sony Xperia XZ2, and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S.

If you are interested only in the real meat, then there is going to be quite a bunch of phones which will come with Android P out of the box and some already existing phones will get an update. The buzz is, Nokia is going to be one of the foremost brands along with Google Pixel phones to sport Android P. But according to reports, it won’t be until September 2018 before the new handsets will be launched in the market.

Let’s look at which brands and handsets will come with Android P loaded this year and the ones that will receive an update.

GOOGLE

The good news is all of Google’s Pixel phones will get an update. The bad news is Nexus has been left out from this.

Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, and Pixel 2XL will get an update as well as the new ones will have Android P out of the box.
